About

Biomedical Implant Technology Inc. is a Canadian-based research and development company, founded in 1993 by Dr. Kwan. The company provides independent engineering solutions for the replacement of teeth with dental implants, including trouble shooting, treatment planning, and general consulting services for dentists and dental laboratories.

Dr. Kwan obtained his Master of Science from the University of Toronto in 1977 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 1982. He is licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in Ontario, and received post-graduate training in implant dentistry in 1987 at Lund University, Sweden; Harvard University, Boston in 1987-1989 and Brookdale Hospital Medical Centre, New York in 1989-1990. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Society of Implant Dentistry. He is also a member of the medical staff of the Niagara Health System as well as the Health Care Corporation of St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Since 1993, Dr. Kwan has developed numerous implant educational training programs, and has been a regular speaker at many US and international dental conferences. He is the inventor and developer of the BioHex One Piece – One Stage Dental Implant System, and holds numerous US and international patents. His research in the last decade has focused on implant prosthetics.

The BioHex One Piece – One Stage Dental Implant System is the invention of Dr. Kwan, which is designed to save time and money for procedures, while providing long-term aesthetic and functional results.
