LASAK is a Czech company that designs, develops, manufactures, and sells innovative medical products, primarily focusing on bone and dental implants and bone regeneration materials. Founded in 1991 by Assoc. Ing. Zdeněk Strnad, CSc. and Ing. Igor Riedl, CSc., LASAK produces various types of advanced ceramic bioactive materials under the brands PORESORB-TCP and OssaBase-HA, which are used as bone substitutes in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, maxillofacial and ear surgery, and other fields.
In 1993, LASAK launched the IMPLADENT Implant system, a groundbreaking product that has become one of the world’s most respected systems, conforming to all technical requirements of materials and design. This system has been widely used in the Czech Republic and exported to many other countries. In 2000, LASAK also created the first hydrophilic, nanostructured, bioactive coating for titanium implants, a technology that has since been followed by leading manufacturers around the world. For its BIO surface for dental implants, LASAK received the Czech Head 2010 scientific award for the best technological and product innovation in the Czech Republic.
LASAK is a member of the first medical cluster in the Czech Republic, CZECHIMPLANT, z.s., which brings together leading domestic manufacturers, universities and doctors in the field of implantology. All LASAK products are compliant with Directive 93/42/EEC and other technical standards and can be CE marked. The research, production and service of the IMPLADENT® and BioniQ® systems are subject to an established quality management system that complies with the current ISO 13485 standard. To date, more than 100,000 patients have chosen the IMPLADENT® system.
