Abutments
The implant abutment is the heart of implant prosthetics. It is used to attach the prosthetic crown to the dental implant, which is implanted in the bone. The shape of the abutment, called "homothetic", enables the retention and robustness of the prosthetic restoration. The abutments also have a complementary part to the implant connection to ensure the stability of the reconstruction. The connection between the implant and the abutment is made with the prosthetic screw. The choice of abutment is crucial and must be made according to the indication of the clinical situation (esthetics and function). The different types of abutments and the different materials available allow a wide choice to adapt to many clinical cases.
