Overdenture restoration

Overdenture prosthesis can be stabilized by dental implants over attachments. They provide additional support to improve patient comfort during function (e.g., chewing, phonation). Overdenture prosthesis in implant dentistry are in most cases complete arches stabilized by 2 or 4 implants. The ability to easily remove the prosthesis makes it easier for the patient to care for and clean the attachments and the prosthesis. The choice of attachment type depends on the clinical situation and the position of the implants on the arch. The most common types of attachments are locator attachments, ball attachments, telescopic attachments and bar or magnetic attachments.
